Wrought iron and cast aluminum garden furniture is usually hand crafted and is available in some very unique designs. The main advantage cast aluminum has over wrought iron is that is it lighter in weight and will not rust, it will however corrode and over time its paint may flake and chip away. Wrought Iron will rust. It has to be protected with a coating to prevent rusting. If you purchase wrought iron, ensure that the supplier provides you with at least a one-year warranty against rust. Wrought iron can also be extremely heavy. Both Wrought iron and cast aluminum are not as comfortable to sit on for long periods of time.

Finally, no matter what material you finally decide upon, we strongly recommended that you invest in covers for your garden furniture. Today’s garden furniture covers are available in every shape and size to fit your furniture. By simply covering your furniture at night, during the winter, or when it rains you will add more years of enjoyment to your furniture.
